Early Behavioral Issues

Clifford Olson

 

  • Olson attended, Bridgeport Elementary school, Richmond, BC.

 

  • By the time he completed the 8th grade, he had already been jailed for the first time.

 

  • At age 10, he was skipping classes.

 

  • Olson earned an early reputation as a “show-off”per a former teacher as quoted by Kerr in Crimelibrary.

 

  • Known to deliberately misbehave as though he wanted to be caught. These behaviors put him at the center of attention. (Kerr).

 

  • Failed Junior High School several times.

 

  • At 15 yrs old (1956) he ended his schooling at  Cambie Junior High School.

 

  • Immediately entered the workforce, finding work  at Landsdown Racetrack.

 

  • By age 17, his criminal career that would span 24 years, was accelerating rapidly.

Early Behavioral Issues

Wm. Bonin

  • At age 7, there were signs of trouble.

 

  • By age 8,Bonin was jailed in juvenile hall for the theft of license plates.

 

  •  

    According to Connecticut medical records, Bonin was a target for sexual harassment from older boy.

 

 

  • Although the young Bonin, agreed to participate, provided that he be restrained:

 

  • At 8 years old he had a high  awareness ways to act sexually.

 

  • He asked the boys who assaulted him to tie his hands to be  behind his back to reduce his fear.

 

  • Reform school appears to be the setting the stage for Bonin's deviant understanding of sex.

 

  • "The detention home was a veritable house of horrors where sexual sadism, Inquisition-like punishments such as submersion in ice water, and threats at the point of a knife were common place.” (Gribben)
